Dios Mio / Bring That Shit – Split 7” - Give Praise/Berzerker Records

My god, Dios Mio and Bring That Shit split put out by Give Praise and Berzerker Records. I threw on the Dios Mio first and sure these are three tracks re-recorded from the DEMONstration cassette, but the chances of you having that are well slim. All I can say is thank you, the three tracks are rad the vocals are coarse but the lyrics are solid and relatable and the first two tracks are fast and in your face while “Down the Drain,” is a solid mid tempo grooving track. On the other side Bring That Shit! brings a slightly different flavor, female fronted and ironically has some track in Spanish, I say ironic because Dios Mio is all in English. With Bring That Shit, the speed is their and straight punk style, but between the language barrier and some the lyrics just not making any sense “Put babies on spikes,” it’s just like “um ok.” There are two solid jams amidst this side of the record “Wasted Away,” and “Tear it up.” Maybe it’s just hard for me to get into female fronted punk sung in Spanish but their side just doesn’t really stand out. I’ll take quality over quantity and say if you where to through these two into Mortal Kombat, Dios Mio would be the victor. Even though I don’t feel so strongly about BTS, Dios Mio’s side alone makes this seven well worth picking up, just look at BTS as an added bonus even if it wasn’t exactly what you were looking for.
